A Fair Value Gap (FVG) is a price imbalance formed when price moves aggressively in one direction, leaving an imbalance between the first and third candles of a three-candle formation. These zones represent areas where price may revisit, react, or potentially fill the imbalance.
Higher Time Frame (HTF) FVGs are particularly valuable because they represent imbalances formed over larger price intervals. These zones can identify important areas of potential support, resistance, and price reaction that may not be readily apparent on a lower-timeframe chart.
The Multi-Time Frame Fair Value Gap Indicator combines lower-timeframe and higher-timeframe FVGs directly on a single chart. This allows traders to monitor immediate price imbalances while maintaining awareness of significant higher-timeframe zones.
Why it matters: Price may react to a higher-timeframe FVG even when the lower timeframe shows little indication of the underlying significance of that zone. Identifying these areas can provide valuable context when evaluating potential trade locations.
